The aspect of traveling that excites me most is encountering diverse ways of life and cultures vastly different from our own. During February 8-22, I embarked on a 14-day journey to Morocco, an experience I'll recount in multiple parts. It all began on a dreary March day in 2023, as I lounged on my couch, my phone chiming with a message from my friend Jude. "Ever considered visiting Morocco?" she asked. Intrigued, I promptly turned to Google to learn more about the North African country. "Why?" I queried in response. It turned out that a mutual friend had shared details about a captivating trip called "Colors of Morocco" organized by Collette Travel Agency and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Alumni Association. Was I interested? Initially, I hesitated, but after pondering the idea, I enthusiastically committed. After all, when life presents the chance to ride a camel and spend a night under the stars in the Sahara Desert, who am I to decline such an adventure?
